Generally, a group of individuals that are part of an organized government sponsored force of soldiers that are only active in certain situations. Militias can also be informally organized outside the purview of the government, and be heavily armed with their own personal weapons.
Examples
- Those guys are part of a militia that hides in the mountains over there. They have a lot of guns and even bigger weapons that pose a danger to the nearby towns.
