A shortened version of the word "mathematics".  The science of numbers and their operations, interrelations, combinations, generalizations, and abstractions and of space configurations and their structure, measurement, transformations, and generalizations.

Algebra, arithmetic, calculus, geometry, and trigonometry are branches of mathematics.
