The temporary release of a prisoner in exchange for security given for the prisoner's appearance at a later hearing.  Security (money) given for the release of a prisoner.
後(ご)の公聴(こうちょう)会(かい)での被告(ひこく)の出廷(しゅってい)の保証(ほしょう)と引(ひ)き換(か)えに、被告(ひこく)の一時(いちじ)的(てき)な釈放(しゃくほう)。被告(ひこく)の釈放(しゃくほう)のために与(あた)えられた保証(ほしょう)（お金(かね)）。
