Drop the charges in regards to a court case.  Legal meaning is to "drop the charges", often because the victim decides to stop cooperating with the prosecution.

訴訟に関して起訴を取り下げること。法的な意味は、多くの場合、被害者が検察への協力をやめることを決定したため、「起訴を取り下げる」ということ。

例
