An office pool is a contest to select the winners of the games played in a particular timeframe, usually weekly.  Normally the participants in the office are charged a fixed amount of money to play in the office pool.  Winners of the pool receive some portion of that money as a prize.  A very common example of an office pool is a pro football pool.
