Drop the charges in regards to a court case.  Legal meaning is to "drop the charges", often because the victim decides to stop cooperating with the prosecution.

訴訟(そしょう)に関(かん)して起訴(きそ)を取(と)り下(さ)げること。法的(ほうてき)な意味(いみ)は、多(おお)くの場合(ばあい)、被害(ひがい)者(しゃ)が検察(けんさつ)への協力(きょうりょく)をやめることを決定(けってい)したため、「起訴(きそ)を取(と)り下(さ)げる」ということ。
