A privileged status attained by length of continuous service, as in a company.

会社(かいしゃ)のように、継続(けいぞく)的(てき)な勤続(きんぞく)期間(きかん)によって達成(たっせい)される特権(とっけん)的(てき)なステータス。

Examples

I have seniority at the company, so I am not in jeopardy of getting laid off.

私(わたし)は会社(かいしゃ)では古参(こさん)なのでているので、解雇(かいこ)される危険(きけん)はありません。
