A predominantly paper questionnaire that is filled out by a voter and submitted to the organization in charge of tallying votes.  Ballots contain the available choices for each elected office, and may include other referenda.  Voters physically mark the ballots according to their choices for the office or referenda.
主(おも)に紙(かみ)の質問(しつもん)票(ひょう)で、投票(とうひょう)者(しゃ)が記入(きにゅう)し、投票(とうひょう)の集計(しゅうけい)を担当(たんとう)する組織(そしき)に提出(ていしゅつ)されます。投票(とうひょう)用紙(ようし)には、選出(せんしゅつ)されるそれぞれのポジションでの選択肢(せんたくし)が含(ふく)まれており、またその他(た)の国民(こくみん)投票(とうひょう)が含(ふく)まれる場合(ばあい)もあります。有権者(ゆうけんしゃ)は、ポジションまたは国民(こくみん)投票(とうひょう)の為(ため)の選択(せんたく)をしそれを投票(とうひょう)用紙(ようし)に実際(じっさい)に印(しるし)を付(つ)けます。
