my/your/his/her/its/our/their + noun

説明

Use a possessive adjective before a noun to show who something belongs to. The common words are "my, your, his, her, its, our, their."

For example, "Our office is near the station." Here "our" shows the office belongs to us, and "office" is the noun. "Near the station" gives the place. In Japanese, you say "私たちのオフィス," but English puts the possessive word before the noun. Do not use "mine" before a noun.

例文

  • This is my bag. これは私のかばんです。
  • Is that your phone? あれはあなたのスマホですか。
  • His bike is blue. 彼の自転車は青いです。
  • Her coffee is cold. 彼女のコーヒーは冷めています。
  • Our office is near the station. 私たちのオフィスは駅の近くです。
  • Their house is not big. 彼らの家は大きくありません。
