Explanation
Some verbs need a preposition after them.
For example, "I listen to music in the morning." Here, "listen" is the verb, "to" is the preposition, and "music" is the object. The words work together as one fixed pattern, so you cannot usually leave out "to." In Japanese, you say "音楽を聞く," so the extra English word is easy to forget. Other verbs use different prepositions, like "wait for" and "agree with."
動詞のあとに前置詞が必要な形があります。
たとえば、"I listen to music in the morning." では、"listen" が動詞、"to" が前置詞、"music" が目的語です。この3つはひとまとまりの決まった形なので、ふつう "to" は抜けません。日本語では「音楽を聞く」と言えるため、英語のこの小さな語を入れ忘れやすいです。前置詞は動詞によって違い、"wait for" や "agree with" のような形もあります。

Common Mistakes
Japanese learners often drop the preposition after the verb.
Wrong: "I listen music."
Right: "I listen to music."
They may also add a preposition that the verb does not need.
Wrong: "I discussed about it."
Right: "I discussed it."
日本語の感覚で動詞のあとに必要な前置詞を落としがちです。
誤り: "I listen music."
正しくは "I listen to music."
また、英語では不要な前置詞を入れてしまうこともあります。
誤り: "I discussed about it."
正しくは "I discussed it."
