習慣や日課を表す現在形

A1 英検3級 初級

base verb; add "-s" or "-es" with "he/she/it"

説明

Use the present simple for habits and routines. It tells us what happens again and again, not only now.

For example, "She gets up at 7 every day." Here "She" is the subject, "gets up" is the verb, and "at 7 every day" tells us the routine time. In English, we add "-s" to the verb with "he," "she," or "it." Japanese often uses the same verb form for habits, so learners may forget this "-s."

例文

  • I walk to school every morning. 私は毎朝、歩いて学校に行きます。
  • She drinks tea after lunch. 彼女は昼食の後にお茶を飲みます。
  • Do you study English on Saturdays? 土曜日に英語を勉強しますか。
  • He does not watch TV at night. 彼は夜にテレビを見ません。
  • We usually eat dinner at 6. 私たちはたいてい6時に夕食を食べます。
  • The bus leaves at 8:10 every day. そのバスは毎日8時10分に出発します。

よくある間違い

Japanese learners often forget the "-s" in the third person singular.

Wrong: "He go to work every day."

Right: "He goes to work every day."
