時間を表す「at」「on」「in」の使い方

at + exact time; on + day/date; in + month/year/long period

説明

Use "at" for one exact time. Use "on" for a day or a date. Use "in" for a month, a year, or a longer period.

In "The train leaves at 7:30," "at" shows one exact clock time, and "7:30" is that time. Japanese often uses "に" for all of these, but English chooses the preposition by time size.

例文

  • The train leaves at 7:30.
  • We have class on Monday.
  • My birthday is in July.
  • Are you free on Friday?
  • I do not work on Sundays.
  • She was born in 1998.

Japanese learners often write "in Monday" or "on 7:30." The correct forms are "on Monday" and "at 7:30." Use "at" for exact clock times, "on" for days and dates, and "in" for months, years, and longer periods.
