説明
In English, a basic sentence needs a subject and a verb: "I run," "She smiles," "Dogs bark." This structure is used for simple statements about actions or states. Japanese learners often forget the subject in English, but English usually needs it.
英語の基本文は、主語と動詞で作ります。「I run.」「She smiles.」「Dogs bark.」のように、動作や状態をシンプルに表します。日本語では主語を省略しやすいですが、英語ではふつう主語が必要です。
例文
- I run every morning. 私は毎朝走ります。
- She smiles a lot. 彼女はよく笑います。
- My brother sleeps early. 私の兄は早く寝ます。
- Birds fly south in winter. 鳥は冬に南へ飛びます。
- The baby cries at night. その赤ちゃんは夜に泣きます。
よくある間違い
Japanese speakers often drop the subject or use a noun where a verb is needed: "Go to school every day" -> "I go to school every day." They may also forget third-person -s in the present simple: "She smile" -> "She smiles."
日本語話者は主語を省略してしまったり、動詞が必要なところで名詞のまま言ってしまうことがあります: "Go to school every day" -> "I go to school every day." また、現在形の三人称単数の -s を忘れやすく、"She smile" -> "She smiles." となりがちです。
