説明
Use "so" to show a result. It means "therefore" or "because of that."
In "It was raining, so we stayed at home," "It was raining" is the reason, and "we stayed at home" is the result. The comma helps the sentence sound clear when two full clauses are joined. Japanese often says "雨が降っていたので、家にいました," but English usually uses one connector, not both "because" and "so."
"so" は結果を言うときに使います。意味は「それで」「その結果」です。
"It was raining, so we stayed at home." では、"It was raining" が理由で、"we stayed at home" が結果です。2つの文をつなぐので、前にカンマを入れるとわかりやすくなります。日本語では「雨が降っていたので、家にいました」と言えますが、英語では "because" と "so" を両方入れないのが普通です。

よくある間違い
Japanese learners often write "Because it was raining, so we stayed home." In English, do not use "because" and "so" together in the same sentence. Use one or the other: "It was raining, so we stayed home." or "Because it was raining, we stayed home."
日本語の「〜なので」に引っぱられて、"Because it was raining, so we stayed home." のように "because" と "so" を両方入れてしまうことがよくあります。英語では同じ文で両方は使いません。"It was raining, so we stayed home." または "Because it was raining, we stayed home." にします。
