説明
Use "these" for plural things near you. Use "those" for plural things farther away.
In "Those shoes are too big.", "those" points to more than one shoe, "shoes" is the plural noun, and "are" matches a plural subject. Japanese often uses "これらの" or "あれらの", but English also needs the noun to be plural. So "these book" is wrong, because "book" must become "books".
"these" は、近くにある複数の物を指します。"those" は、離れた場所にある複数の物を指します。
"Those shoes are too big." では、"those" が「遠くにある複数の靴」を指し、"shoes" が複数形の名詞で、"are" も複数主語に合っています。日本語では「これらの」「あれらの」と言えますが、英語では名詞も複数形にする必要があります。なので "these book" は間違いで、"books" にします。

よくある間違い
Japanese learners often use a singular noun after "these" or "those", for example "These book are mine." The noun must be plural, so say "These books are mine." Also, "this" and "that" are for one thing, but "these" and "those" are for more than one.
日本語話者は、"these" や "those" の後ろに単数名詞を置いてしまいがちです。たとえば "These book are mine." は誤りで、正しくは "These books are mine." です。また、"this" と "that" は1つ、"these" と "those" は2つ以上に使います。
