Explanation
Use these words before a comparative to show how big the difference is. "Much", "far", and "a lot" make the difference stronger, and "slightly" makes it smaller.
For example, "This room is much bigger than my old one." Here, "This room" is the thing we compare. "is" links the subject to the adjective. "much" adds strength. "bigger" is the comparative form. "than my old one" shows what we compare it with. In Japanese, you often say "ずっと" or "少し" before the adjective idea, but English puts the degree word before the comparative form.
比較級の前にこれらの語を置くと、差の大きさを表せます。"much"、"far"、"a lot" は差を大きくし、"slightly" は差を小さくします。
たとえば、"This room is much bigger than my old one." では、"This room" が比べるものです。"is" は主語と形容詞をつなぎます。"much" が「かなり」を足し、"bigger" が比較級です。"than my old one" が比較の相手を示します。日本語では「ずっと」や「少し」を形容詞の前に置きますが、英語では比較級の前に置きます。

Common Mistakes
Japanese learners often say "very bigger" or "more bigger". Use one comparative form only, then add the degree word: "This bag is much bigger than that one." Also, remember "than" after the comparative.
日本語話者は "very bigger" や "more bigger" と言いがちです。比較級は1回だけ使い、その前に程度を表す語を置きます。正しくは "This bag is much bigger than that one." です。比較級のあとには "than" も必要です。
